QuickClock 1.0 is an application that displays the current "fast time" on your Mac screen in large numerals that can be read from across the room. Quickly and easily change speed ratios from the menu bar. You can choose to use the optional chime, selecting from among 5 sounds, for an audible cue to the passage of time. Chime is selectable to ring on the quarter or half hour. There are 16 different ratios to choose from (1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5, 1:6, 1:7, 1:8, 1:9, 1:10, 1:12, 1:15, 1:25, 1:30, 1:60).
What is a "fast clock?" It is normally a hardware device that is used by model railroaders to speed up the passage of time to better simulate prototypical operations. Actual time between stations may only be a few seconds or minutes, but with a fast clock the modeler can devise a schedule that is more realistic, then operate by that schedule via the fast time display. QuickClock 1.0 is a software version of the traditional fast clock.
Please note that presently, QuickClock is available only for Mac OS 9. We hope to develop a version for OS X soon.
